Home & Family Environment

This scale provides score on seven dimensions of family environment. These include Competitive framework, Cohesion, Expression, Independence, Moral orientation, Organization and Recreational orientation. It can be used both by children as well as parents separately and together. This test is for children and parents, and takes about 30 minutes to complete.

This scale consists 45 items divided into Nine Constructs–I. Communication, II. Encouragement of the Individuals, III. Commitment to Family, IV. Religious Orientation, V. Social Connectedness, VI. Ability to Adopt, VII. Expressing Appreciation, VIII. Clear Roles, IX. Time spent together. It was administered on age range 13 to 21 years.

This 100 item inventory is related to 10dimensions of home environment. They are control, protectiveness, punishment, conformity, social isolation, reward, deprivation of privileges, nurturance, rejection, and permissiveness. This test developed on school going children of intermediate class.

Based on child’s observation technique this 24 item inventory measure s the effect of home environment. This inventory consists of five sub tests, namely, language stimulation, physical environment, encouragement of social maturity, and variety of stimulation and maternal attitude and disciplining. This test is developed for children of I to IV grade.
