Learning is an ongoing process in life. It is a continuous process of acquiring knowledge. This is a process of permanent change in the behaviour. Learning will be sometimes accidental. Learning takes place through Trail and Errors, Insightfulness, Imitation Learning, Transfer of training etc.

Habit Interference Board/Card Sorting Tray (Performance)
Usually we automatically tend to develop habits to certain activities. We get so much habituated that sometimes these habits will inhibit our new learning. Transfer of training also has a negative effect on new learning. If the past learning slows down or interferes with the new learning it results in negative transfer. This negative transfer is studied using the habit interference board under laboratory conditions. This wooden tray consisting of 8 pouches and grouped in to two sections i.e. section ‘A’ and section ‘B’. Section A has four pouches with four different geometrical designs with two different colors. Section ‘B’ also has same number of pouches and the designs, but the positions of the designs are inter changed. A set of cards with same designs and colors as painted in the tray is provided for sorting.

Paired Associate Learning (English)
It is true that in learning and memory process, there is a close relationship between the meaningfulness and learning. Larger the association between the two learning materials greater will be the speed and easier to learn the material. This phenomenon can be established by making use of paired associate learning cards. This is a set of 20 cards, which has a pair of words printed on one side and the first word of the pair printed on the other. These cards are grouped in to two as ‘A’ and ‘B’. Group ‘A’ (10 pairs) words has no association and group ‘B’ has different pairs (10 pairs) of words and has more logical and meaningful relationship.

Rational Learning Apparatus (Electrical) (Performance)
This instrument will be helpful in understanding the process of learning through forming associations between the light and switches. The process of learning is facilitated by subject’s knowledge that there is only one switch c onnected to one light and is gradual, resulting in a fall (reduction in) in errors and time taken in forming the association from trial to trial. This is also a form of paired association.

Restriction of Movement Test Apparatus(Performance): Mirror Drawing for Printed Stars
Learning and ConditioningRestriction of Movement Test Apparatus(Performance): Mirror Drawing for Printed Stars
Restriction of movement will inhibit the learning and will have negative effect on the learning Using this instrument the effect of free movement on learning is established. This instrument will have a mirror fixed on a board with a set of clips provided at the center. Two sets of stars are provided i.e. a) Grove type stars and b) Dot type stars. These stars can be fixed at the center so as to get the proper mirror image by using the provided clips. An adjustable screen is provided so as to facilitate the subject to see the star image through mirror only. By making use of a pencil subject will trace the doted stars and has to draw a line in the grove provided in two different distributed trials. Time taken and error committed will give the insight to understand the learning difficulty in a restricted situation.

Verbal Learning – Letter Digit Substitution Test (English)
Verbal learning is the one where language activity is predominating. It is a known fact that learning cannot be measured directly but we can ascertain the same by measuring the performance. This process of learning takes place over a period time and trials. As the practice increases the performance increases rapidly in the beginning and then levels off. This is called plateau. This progress of learning as a result of practice is studied using letter digit substitution test material. This is a list of letters and values for each letter printed as a key. Referring to these values subject has to keep substituting the corresponding values to all the other letters.’

Winking Reflex Apparatus/Air Puff Apparatus
Classical Conditioning Demonstration Apparatus(Performance): This is a wooden board with a slit in the center mounted on a rectangular base. It has one horizontal and one vertical pipe fixed with an adjustable clamp along the slit. A pipe has an air bulb at one end and a nozzle at the other end. By pressing the bulb, the air rushes through nozzle and results in winking reflex. The wooden board itself acts as a screen and no separate screen is needed. A chin rest is also provided. (1 Set includes I Air puff apparatus with chin rest and administrator manual)
