As the practice increases the performance increases rapidly in the beginning and then levels off. This is called plateau. 0 out of 5(0)It is true that in learning and memory process, there is a close relationship between the meaningfulness and learning. Larger the association between the two learning materials greater will be the speed and easier to learn the material. This phenomenon can be established by making use of paired associate learning cards. This is a set of 20 cards, which has a pair of words printed on one side and the first word of the pair printed on the other. These cards are grouped in to two as ‘A’ and ‘B’. Transfer of training also has a negative effect on new learning. If the past learning slows down or interferes with the new learning it results in negative transfer. This negative transfer is studied using the habit interference board under laboratory conditions. This wooden tray consisting of 8 pouches and grouped in to two sections i.e. section ‘A’ and section ‘B’. Section A has four pouches with four different geometrical designs with two different colors. Section ‘B’ also has same number of pouches and the designs, but the positions of the designs are inter changed.
